The Chinese textile team Haixi of the China Textile Academy has worked with the Jinjang municipal government and with research and development teams of various hinge manufacturers, including SBS Zipper, to bring to the point a revolutionary innovation against bending. Experts from different sectors, such as fabrics, fibers, inspections, painting and finishing and mechanical engineering, have worked with the technical staff of various hinge manufacturers to find solutions. The most important production technologies and raw materials used in the manufacture of hinges have been extensively studied on site to identify the changes necessary to put an end to the arc phenomenon.



The solution

The research team finally found a solution to prevent the zipper from shrinking when ironing zippered clothes. Researchers developed polyester filaments mainly for industries, as well as a new machine for making hinges. These discoveries have improved the technologies often used in the production of hinges. Changes in the production process have proved to be a revolutionary solution to prevent the hinges from deforming.



To ensure the correct operation of the new solution, the hinges made with the modified production process were tested at the SBS Zipper Quality Control Center and did not bend any of these new finished hinges. In addition to reducing shrinkage and bending, hinges made with custom technology can also help manufacturers reduce uneven dyeing of the zippers.
